Only valid for purchases made in the United Kingdom, Ireland, United States, Canada, Caribbean, and Mexico (“Territory”) from retailers (including Duty Free shops and Military Exchanges) Authorised by Citizen Watch United Kingdom, Ltd., Citizen Watch Company of America, Inc., Citizen Watch Canada Ltd., or Citizen de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (“Citizen”, in their respective markets), as an Authorised Retailer.
Citizen Guarantees this watch (except the quartz battery, case and its components [including glass, stem, crown], bracelet and its components [including clasp, links, pins, screws], strap and its components or any accessories) to be free of defects in material and workmanship and to meet the timekeeping accuracy specification in the instructions for a period of five (5) years from the date of original retail purchase in the Territory from an Authorised Retailer. Citizen CZ Smart watches are covered by a two (2) year guarantee and do not qualify for an additional year on registration. You can still register your purchase.
The Five-Year Limited Guarantee will be honoured only by Official Citizen Service Centres in the Territory. Service Centres located in other parts of the world will provide Guarantee service under the one year International Guarantee.
If you register your watch in the United Kingdom or Ireland, you are entitled to an extra one-year guarantee in this territory. For this extended period your watch will be covered under the same terms and conditions as the 5-year guarantee. Please note that proof of purchase is still required during this one-year extended period. This watch registration programme is only valid with UK or Ireland postal address. Citizen CZ Smartwatches are covered by a two (2) year guarantee and do not qualify for an additional year on registration. You can still register your purchase.
WHAT THE FIVE-YEAR GUARANTEE DOES NOT COVER
(a) Damage, accidental or otherwise, to the watch not caused by a defect in material or workmanship.
(b) Damage caused by accident, misuse, tampering with or failure to follow the care and special handling provisions in the instructions.
(c) Damage and/or scratches to the finish of the case, glass, bracelet, strap or other components caused by wear or accident.
(d) Moisture damage to a watch not marked ‘water resistant’ on the case back or damage from moisture in ‘water resistant’ models that is a result of opening the watch, broken or damaged components.
(e) Damage caused by the customer’s failure to have the watch serviced in accordance with the following schedule of regular maintenance.
Power cells must be replaced immediately when power is lost (except Eco-Drive). Water resistant models, including Eco-Drive, must be tested and resealed every two to three years or whenever the battery is replaced on battery operated models, whichever comes first.
ALL IMPLIED GUARANTEES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED GUARANTEE OF MERCHANTABILITY ARE LIMITED TO THE FIVE (5) YEAR DURATION OF THIS EXPRESS LIMITED GUARANTEE EXCLUDING THE CITIZEN CZ SMART WHICH IS A TWO (2) YEAR GUARANTEE. CITIZEN DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES AND IN NO EVENT SHALL CITIZEN’S LIABILITY EXCEED THE RETAIL VALUE OF THE WATCH FOR BREACH OF ANY WRITTEN OR IMPLIED GUARANTEE WITH RESPECT TO THIS WATCH.
